HOW TO MEASURE YOUR BRA SIZE

To obtain your correct bra size, you will need to take two measurements; your under-bust measurement for your band size and your over-bust measurement for your cup size. You need to wear a comfortable, non-padded bra (not a minimiser).

  1. For the under-bust measurement, take a flexible tape measure and wrap it around your torso, immediately under your breasts. Ensure that the tape measure is flat and straight across your back and not loose. Note the measurement in inches.
  2. If the measurement is an odd number of inches, add five to get your band size. For example, 29” plus 5 = band size 34. If the measurement is an even number of inches, add four to get your band size. For example, 34” plus 4 = band size 38.
  3. For the over-bust measurement, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your breasts (usually in line with your nipples). Gradually loosen the tape measure until it starts to slip off your breasts. The point at which it slips is the measurement you need.
  4. The difference between the band size and the over-bust measurement, determines your cup size. Use the table below to work out your cup size.
Over-bust measurement
Cup size
1” less than band size AA
Same as band size A
1” more than band size B
2” more than band size C
3” more than band size D
4” more than band size DD
5” more than band size E
6” more than band size F
7” more than band size FF
8” more than band size G
9” more than band size GG
10” more than band size H
11” more than band size HH

For example
...
Under-bust measurement
of 29” + 5
band size = 34
Over-bust measurement
of 40” - band size 34 = 6” difference
cup size = F
Band size 34 + cup size F bra size = 34F
